UK (Sep 22 2004) - Keyboards, computer mice and telephones are more infested with microbes than toilet seats, according to a recent University of Arizona study.
'Desks are really bacteria cafeterias,' the report says. 'They are breakfast bars, lunch tables and everything else in between.'
When someone is infected with a cold or flu bug, the surfaces they touch during the day become germ-transfer points because some cold and flu viruses can survive on surfaces up to 72 hours, it adds. 'An office can become an incubator.'
The Times newspaper quoted AF's Chris Bratt 'In call centres, where you might have three people working consecutive eight-hour shifts, you really need to clean every day. People also lean over their keyboards, so eyelashes, dead skin cells and nasal droppings fall in.' Ugh.
To make call centres both healthier and more comfortable places to work, AF International launches its 4 new Clene-Swipe Tub Wipes at Call Centre Expo 2004 Birmingham NEC on 29th – 30th September.
