Residents Test Drive New Toilet
CHAMPION, Mich. (August 24 2004) -- Folks in Champion, Mich., are welcoming some new champions -- Champion toilets. American Standard calls its next generation commode the "Champion" and is offering it to the 300 people in the Upper Peninsula community. About 115 toilets are being installed free of charge in homes and six businesses. American Standard says it's a marketing survey, with the toilet users asked to record their impressions of the Champion. The company touts the toilet as so clog-free, users can throw away their plungers. Township Supervisor Berle LaPin says while sewage is serious business, people are having a good laugh over the toilet give-away. © copywrite 2004 The Associated Press |
